  Product Care & Use: Mattress Protector

  Please wash and tumble dry the protector before using it the first time as this softens the product, improves the flexibility and eliminates any packaging odors.

   

  Washing:

  1. Please do NOT use any bleach, bleach alternatives, non-chlorine bleach or any bleach by-products in the detergent, as this will destroy the polyurethane lining on the back of the mattress protector.
  2. The Mattress Protector can be washed along with other items, such as towels or linens
  3. The Mattress Protector can be washed in Hot water. (We recommend a heat of 7 out of 10, with ten being hottest.)
  4. Please do NOT dry clean your mattress protector.

   

  Drying:

  1. Please dry together with some other bed linen or towels. The mattress protector can be tumble dried on a medium heat for about 40 minutes (longer if needed - depending on your dryer)
  2. Careful drying will prevent blistering of the lining. If blisters do form from overheating of the dryer, please discontinue using the protector and contact us, as these blisters will split open and lead to the mattress protector leaking.

   

  Installing the Mattress Protector:

  1. Wash and tumble dry the mattress protector before using it the first time as this softens the product, improves the flexibility and eliminates any packaging odors.
  2. Install the Mattress Protector just like a fitted sheet, with the Terry Cloth Fabric facing Up. The mattress protectors' stretchable skirt should wrap around the mattress and tuck under the mattress just like a fitted sheet.

   

  10 Year Limited Warranty

  Safety Shield Mattress Protectors and Pillow Protectors are designed to extend the life of your mattress by protecting it from allergens and stains that can soil or damage your mattress and also void the manufacturer's warranty.

   

  At Safety Shield we are commited to producing the highest quality products available, which is why we offer a full 10 Year Warranty against any manufacturing defects to the mattress protector. This warranty is to assure you that should there be any damage to the mattress protector due to regular use, that we will replace the protector.

   

  Extended Warranty

  When a Safety Shield Mattress Protector is purchased and delivered at the same time as a new mattress from an authorized Safety Shield retail store, then that mattress qualifies for Safety Shield's Extended Warranty. The extended warranty provides additional protection from any stains that the mattress may recieve due to any manufacturing defects of the mattress protector, on the condition that the mattress protector was properly installed and in use at the time of the stain, and that a visibly damaged mattress protector wasn't installed or re-installed on the mattress.

  My wife put this on our bed for a week and I didn't even notice! Doesn't affect the feel at all.

  Comments: I was very happily surprised that I didn't notice that our Safety Shield protector was even on the bed. We had some cheaper versions before and they were noisy and hot, but this one really isn't. I guess you get what you pay for. We are very happy with the product and would recommend it highly. On our last bed we didn't have a protector and it got pretty nasty. I'll definitely never go without one again.

  Comments: We have 2 young children and one is going through potty training and has been wetting the bed every couple of days. We followed Safety Shield's advice and bought 2 protectors. It's really been a god-send. When Luke has wet the bed at night I just switch the protector and sheets. The bed is fine and I can get back to sleep more quickly. Hopefully he'll grow out of it soon, but even when he does the Safety Shield protector will be there. After using this for my son I went and bought them for every bed in the house.
